These pictures are from my first rained out wedding. We had a thunderstorm like we seldom see in the Pacific NW. I spent half of my time taking pictures and the other half helping to serve the waiting guests wine until the rain finally abated. All in all we ended up with a beautiful wedding, it just took a little patience. Below are a few pictures.
My recent photoshoot with this young lady turned out to be a perfect example the type of abstract portraiture I love to do. I knew she had an excellent sense of her own facial expressions from a previous portrait session so our game plan was to go out and get a variety of shots that day – one happy, one serious and one moody which mom approved. The images are still very much her and capture her essence at this age but as you can see they’re not your typical little girl portraits. Below are some of the results. Enjoy!
I met George Hope on the side of SR-14 on my way to the studio this morning. I’m not in the habit of picking up hitchhikers but an older man with a walking stick and veterans cap seemed worth the risk. He’s 92 years old, born in Alabama and a veteran of WWII and Korea. Said the cab company told him it would take two hours to give him a ride to the VA Hospital so he decided to hitch a ride. True grit.
“At Cute Overload headquarters, we track the popularity of photos very closely. Y’all remember last year’s Top Ten. We have a refined stat-o-meter attached to every post, that measures everything from minor giggles to guffawing LOLs and reports back. Without further ado, here are the Top Ten Photos of 2010.”
